Mod GRF 1-29 is a modified fragment of growth hormone releasing hormone, from the same family as sermorelin and CJC-1295. It is bought as the short-acting half of a GHRH and secretagogue pair. Sold as research material, not as a medicine.

What is in the vial

Three manufacturers, all in 10 mg vials of lyophilised powder, so the difference between them is price and the batch certificate. A 10 mg vial with 2 ml of bacteriostatic water gives 5 mg per millilitre; the arithmetic is in the guide on reconstitution, the conversion into syringe units in syringe units.

Where it sits in the group

GHRH analogues tell the pituitary how much growth hormone to release; secretagogues acting on the ghrelin receptor open the way for that release. Mod GRF 1-29 belongs to the first group. Its distinguishing feature against CJC-1295 with DAC is duration: a short action meant to imitate the body’s own pulses rather than a sustained rise lasting days.

Against sermorelin, which is the unmodified fragment, the modification is what lets it survive longer in plasma before being broken down. The two are compared in the guide on sermorelin and Mod GRF 1-29.

What the evidence is

There are no randomised human trials of Mod GRF 1-29, and none of any specific GHRH and secretagogue pair. The mechanistic case for combining the two families is described in the guide to growth hormone peptides; the end result in people has not been measured in a controlled trial.

This is worth stating without hedging, because Mod GRF is almost always sold as half of a protocol: the protocol has a mechanism behind it and no outcome data behind it.

Status

Not a registered medicine anywhere. GHRH analogues sit in category S2 of the World Anti-Doping Agency list, prohibited in and out of competition. We publish no dosing schedules.

Handling and verification

Questions

What is modified in Mod GRF 1-29?

The amino acid chain of the 29 amino acid fragment is altered so that it resists enzymatic breakdown longer than the unmodified sermorelin fragment.

Is it the same as CJC-1295 without DAC?

The names overlap in the trade, and both describe short-acting GHRH analogues from this family. The clear separation is between the forms with and without DAC.

Why is it paired with a secretagogue?

Because the two act on different pituitary receptors and together produce a larger growth hormone pulse. No randomised trial has measured what that produces in a person.

Is it allowed in sport?

No. Category S2, prohibited at all times.
