What is in the vial
Bio-Peptide is the only manufacturer offering glutathione here, in a 2000 mg vial, the largest in this catalogue. For scale: the compounded preparation involved in the FDA safety report described below contained 1400 mg per patient. What regulators have said about injecting it
In April 2018 the United States Food and Drug Administration warned that injectable skin lightening and whitening products may be unsafe, and it has approved no injectable preparation for skin lightening. In February 2019 the same agency described an event in which seven patients received a compounded L-glutathione preparation, each 1400 mg, and had adverse effects linked to probable high endotoxin levels: nausea, vomiting, dizziness, chills, body aches and sneezing. The Philippine FDA issued its own warning in 2019.
What the evidence is
No clinical trials have evaluated injectable glutathione for skin lightening, and there are no dosing or duration guidelines. Risks listed in the literature include toxicity to the liver, kidneys and nervous system, anaphylaxis and Stevens-Johnson syndrome.

Why the endotoxin detail matters
The seven-patient report is not a story about the molecule being toxic. It is a story about what was in the vial besides the molecule. Endotoxin contamination comes from manufacturing, and the only document that says anything about it for a given batch is the certificate of analysis.
