PT-141, 10 mg. PT-141, bremelanotide, is a melanocortin receptor agonist and one of the few molecules in this catalogue with a drug approval behind it.

What is in this vial
Both brands of PT-141 here come in the same 10 mg vial, so the choice between them is a choice of manufacturer and price, not of quantity. The powder has no concentration of its own: it is set when you add the water. This vial with 2 ml of bacteriostatic water gives 5 mg per millilitre, and with twice that volume, half as much.
The conversion of an amount into insulin syringe units is worked through in the guide on syringe units, and the rules that change once the powder is dissolved are in storage.
Genheal as the manufacturer
Genheal covers the growth hormone axis more completely than the other two brands and is the only one here supplying the BPC-157 and TB-500 blend and tesamorelin. Its vials carry a code under the hologram and a batch certificate, checked the same way as any other brand in this shop.
What the evidence says
Approved in the United States as Vyleesi in 2019 for one narrow indication in premenopausal women. In the registration trials the effect was moderate and the label states the mechanism is not known. The full account, with the sources and the limits, is on the PT-141 page, and the background in the guide on the libido and tanning group.
We publish no dosing schedules. Sold as research material, not as a medicine.
Genheal fills PT-141 in the same 10 mg vial as Bio-Peptide, and it also supplies melanotan II, the molecule this one is a metabolite of. The product label of the approved medicine states that the way it improves desire is not known, which is worth carrying over to any description of this vial.
Concentration in this vial
| Water added | Concentration | Per unit on a U-100 syringe |
|---|---|---|
| 1 ml | 10 mg/ml | 100 mcg |
| 2 ml | 5 mg/ml | 50 mcg |
| 5 ml | 2 mg/ml | 20 mcg |
The table is arithmetic and nothing else: it converts the 10 mg in this vial into the concentration you get for a chosen volume of bacteriostatic water. It is not a dosing recommendation, and we publish none.
This vial next to the other PT-141 vials
The same compound is sold here in one other version: Bio-Peptide, 10 mg. The molecule is identical in each; what differs is the manufacturer. Both hold the same amount, so the choice here is the manufacturer and its batch certificate, not the size.
Also from Genheal in this group
Within Libido and tanning, Genheal also supplies MT-2 (Melanotan II) 10 mg.
A registration that concerns the medicine, not this vial
Vyleesi was approved for a narrow indication: treatment of premenopausal women with acquired, generalised hypoactive sexual desire disorder. The condition has to cause marked distress or interpersonal difficulty and must not result from another illness, from medicines taken or from problems in the relationship.
Three things set the medicine apart from research material: the medicine has an established dose, goes through batch quality control and comes in a ready autoinjector. A vial of powder gives none of these, although it holds the same molecule.
A mechanism nobody fully knows
Bremelanotide is a melanocortin receptor agonist: it binds to these receptors and stimulates them. They are found, among other places, in the central nervous system and are linked to sexual function. The product information nevertheless states plainly that the way the medicine improves desire remains unknown. Melanotan II acts on the same family of receptors but mainly causes skin pigmentation; the two molecules are related, and their profiles differ clearly.
How effective it was in the registration trials
| Group | Share with a desire score increase of 1.2 points or more |
|---|---|
| Bremelanotide | About 25 per cent |
| Placebo | About 17 per cent |
The difference is real and was enough for approval, but calling it moderate is more honest than calling it a breakthrough. We give the figures so that you can judge the size of the effect yourself.
One ampoule, one concentration
The Genheal box holds one 1 ml solvent ampoule. Dissolving the whole 10 mg in it gives 10 mg per millilitre, or 100 mcg per syringe unit, so a mistake of one mark on the syringe changes the amount by 100 mcg. Wipe the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab, add the solvent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and let the powder dissolve without shaking. Keep the solution in the fridge at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, away from light.
Who this vial is for
You want PT-141 in the simplest set: this is the vial. You want a finer scale: the Bio-Peptide box has two ampoules. You are interested in the related molecule that mainly affects skin pigmentation: that is Melanotan II.
PT-141 in men: what the first studies showed
PT-141, or bremelanotide, was approved as the drug Vyleesi for premenopausal women only. The first studies, however, were done in men, including men whom sildenafil did not help. The vial in the shop contains the same molecule, but it is research material and does not carry over the drug's approval.
| Study | Who and how | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Diamond et al., 2004 | healthy men and patients with mild erectile dysfunction, nasal dosing | a significant erection against placebo, the first after about 30 minutes |
| Rosen et al., 2004 | healthy men and patients for whom sildenafil was not enough, dosing under the skin | a significant response in patients at both doses studied |
| Diamond et al., 2005 | 19 men with erectile dysfunction, a small dose of PT-141 with a small dose of sildenafil | an erection significantly stronger than after sildenafil alone |
Erection was measured with a RigiScan device, which records the rigidity and circumference of the penis. The second row seems the most important. The study included men in whom sildenafil gave an erection sufficient for intercourse in at most half of attempts. PT-141 works by a different route, in the brain, through melanocortin receptors, not by widening blood vessels.
After nasal dosing, the peak level came after about half an hour, and the half-life was about 2 hours. The most common side effects were facial flushing and nausea. The combination with sildenafil brought no new side effects.
The drug is not approved for men, and a 2026 article in the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology only raises the question of whether it is worth returning to. The differences from melanotan II are described in the guide Melanotan 2 and PT-141.

Questions
How much PT-141 is in this vial?
10 mg of lyophilised powder from Genheal, in one vial.
What concentration does 2 ml of water give?
5 mg per millilitre, which is 50 mcg per unit on a U-100 insulin syringe. Other volumes are in the table above.
Is this the same molecule as the Bio-Peptide vial?
Yes. PT-141 is the same compound in every vial here, and both hold 10 mg. What differs is the manufacturer and the batch certificate that comes with it.
