BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide of fifteen amino acids, based on a fragment of a protective protein found in human gastric juice. It is the most widely bought recovery peptide in this shop, and it is sold as research material, not as a medicine.

What is in the vial
Bio-Peptide and Genheal fill 5 mg vials, Nouveaux Ltd. fills 20 mg. It is the same molecule in all three; the vial size changes the number of milligrams and the price per milligram, nothing else. The 20 mg vial is the cheapest per milligram in this catalogue, and it is also the one that sits longest in solution once opened, which is the trade-off worth thinking about before ordering.
Concentration is decided when the powder is dissolved: 5 mg with 1 ml of bacteriostatic water gives 5 mg per millilitre, 20 mg with 4 ml gives the same. The arithmetic and the conversion into insulin syringe units are in the guides on reconstitution and syringe units.
What the research shows
In animal studies BPC-157 accelerated healing of a transected Achilles tendon, of damaged muscle and of ligaments, and it protected the gastric lining. The described mechanisms are formation of new blood vessels, collagen synthesis and activation of fibroblasts.
Human data amount to one small observational study: a retrospective analysis from 2021 in sixteen people, where roughly 92 percent reported improvement in knee pain after an intra-articular injection. It came from a single centre with a single investigator and relied on patient-reported sensations.
What it does not show
There are no randomised trials. A phase 1 safety study was discontinued before its results passed review, and the clinical safety of BPC-157 in humans remains largely unknown. The level of evidence is rated as low. The full picture is in the guide on what the research on BPC-157 shows.

Status
BPC-157 is not approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for any indication and is not a registered medicine in the European Union. The World Anti-Doping Agency prohibits it at all times, in and out of competition, and a sanction can follow without a positive test. What that ban rests on is set out in the WADA guide.

Questions
Does BPC-157 work in humans?
No large clinical trial confirms it. The strong evidence is from animals; the human evidence is one small observational study.
Which vial size should I choose?
A 20 mg vial holds four times what a 5 mg vial holds and costs less per milligram. Once dissolved, a solution keeps about four weeks refrigerated, which is the practical limit on vial size.
