Ipamorelin, TB-500, CJC-1295 and GHK-Cu in tablet form do not have a single published study in humans. Everything known about how these molecules act in people comes from intravenous or subcutaneous use. Tablets carrying these names are therefore sold without any measurement of how much substance reaches the blood. Below we take each of the four molecules separately and show where the results you read about come from.

Why is a peptide in a tablet a problem?

In the stomach and gut a peptide meets the same enzymes that digest protein from a meal. On top of that, the gut wall lets molecules of this size through poorly. This is why oral peptide medicines are only made with special substances that aid absorption.

The best-studied example is semaglutide in a tablet with the additive SNAC. A 2021 analysis by the manufacturer gave a bioavailability of 0.8 percent when taken as recommended. So of every 100 mg of semaglutide swallowed, less than 1 mg reaches the blood. The difference in doses between the tablet and the injection is shown in the guide on whether semaglutide works better as a tablet or an injection.

Tablets with ipamorelin, TB-500, CJC-1295 or GHK-Cu do not state what absorption enhancer they contain or what absorption was achieved. A drug manufacturer had to measure this, while a seller of capsules has no such obligation.

What is known about each of the four molecules?

Each of the four molecules has human data only after injection. The table collects the route of administration from these studies and what was measured in them.

Molecule Study in humans Route of administration Data after swallowing
Ipamorelin healthy men, 1999 intravenous infusion none
CJC-1295 healthy adults, 2006 subcutaneous none
Thymosin beta-4 healthy volunteers, 2010 intravenous none
GHK-Cu cosmetics for the skin on the skin none

The word "none" means that we found no such paper in the PubMed database as of 10 October 2026. A capsule with any of these names is therefore a product whose effect after swallowing no one has described.

What is known about ipamorelin in tablets?

Ipamorelin works in humans after intravenous use, as a 1999 study showed. It involved eight healthy men at each of five dose levels. Each dose triggered a growth hormone pulse that peaked after about 40 minutes. The half-life of ipamorelin was 2 hours.

In 1998 chemists at Novo Nordisk were looking for a growth hormone secretagogue that would work when swallowed. They took ipamorelin as a starting point and made its molecule smaller. Among the results was the compound NN703, which had an oral bioavailability of 30 percent in dogs. NN703 is, however, a different molecule from ipamorelin, and it is not sold as a research peptide.

The results of ipamorelin in further studies are collected in the guide on what effects ipamorelin showed in studies.

Does CJC-1295 work when swallowed?

CJC-1295 raised growth hormone and IGF-1 in a 2006 study after a single subcutaneous injection. Growth hormone rose 2 to 10 times and stayed up for at least 6 days. IGF-1 rose 1.5 to 3 times for 9 to 11 days. The half-life of CJC-1295 was 5.8 to 8.1 days.

This long action comes from CJC-1295 with an attached DAC, which binds to a blood protein. That mechanism only starts working in the blood, so it does not help the molecule pass through the gut. The difference between the versions is described in the guide on choosing CJC-1295 with or without DAC.

What did studies of TB-500 and thymosin beta-4 show?

TB-500 is a short fragment of thymosin beta-4, a protein of 43 amino acids. Studies in humans concern full thymosin beta-4, not the fragment itself. In a 2010 study healthy volunteers received it intravenously at doses of 42 to 1,260 mg, once or daily for 14 days. No dose-limiting adverse effects were recorded.

A Chinese study from 2021 gave healthy volunteers recombinant thymosin beta-4 intravenously, also for 10 days. None of these studies tested an oral form. The difference between TB-500 and the full molecule is explained in the guide on TB-500 and how it differs from BPC-157.

Does the copper peptide GHK-Cu work in tablets?

GHK occurs naturally in human plasma, saliva and urine, and its amount falls with age. A 2015 review describes GHK-Cu mainly in cosmetics applied to the skin. It lists improved skin elasticity and density and softening of fine lines among their effects.

Copper peptides in tablets are a different matter. We found no paper in PubMed measuring GHK-Cu in human blood after swallowing. The effect on the skin is described in the guide on what studies of GHK-Cu show.

How are collagen peptides in tablets different?

Collagen peptides are a collagen hydrolysate, protein cut into very short pieces. In a 2016 study the tripeptide Gly-Pro-Hyp from such a hydrolysate appeared in the blood after swallowing. It was then also found in urine as the unchanged peptide.

This result concerns specific collagen fragments, not every short peptide. Collagen peptides act as a food component, while ipamorelin or CJC-1295 are meant to act as a hormonal signal. The collagen result therefore says nothing about capsules with growth hormone peptides.

Why does the shop sell vials, not tablets?

A vial of freeze-dried powder matches the form used in human studies. After dissolving in bacteriostatic water it is given by the same route as in the papers described above. The list compares the two forms point by point.

The shop has vials of ipamorelin 10 mg Bio-Peptide for 40 EUR, CJC-1295 5 mg Bio-Peptide for 25 EUR and TB-500 10 mg Bio-Peptide for 35 EUR. The copper peptide is GHK-Cu 100 mg Bio-Peptide for 40 EUR. Both growth hormone molecules come together in one vial in Ipamorelin and CJC-1295 Combo Nouveaux for 40 EUR.

Preparing the solution step by step is described in the guide on how to reconstitute a peptide with bacteriostatic water. A comparison of oral, nasal and sublingual use is collected in the guide on peptide routes of administration, and the most common question about capsules concerns BPC-157 orally and by injection. The products in the shop are material for laboratory research, not a medicine.

Frequently asked questions

Does ipamorelin work in tablets?

There is no study that has tested this in humans. Ipamorelin was studied in people as an intravenous infusion, and the oral derivative NN703 had to be built as a different molecule.

Has TB-500 in tablets been studied?

No. Studies in humans concern full thymosin beta-4 given intravenously, at doses of 42 to 1,260 mg in the 2010 study.

Can CJC-1295 be taken orally?

Human data come only from subcutaneous injection. After one injection growth hormone rose 2 to 10 times for at least 6 days.

Does GHK-Cu in tablets work on the skin?

We found no paper measuring GHK-Cu in the blood after swallowing. Data on the effect on the skin concern cosmetics applied locally.

How much peptide is absorbed from a tablet?

For these four molecules no one has measured it. For semaglutide with the additive SNAC, the bioavailability of the tablet was 0.8 percent.
