HGH Fragment 176-191 is the final sixteen amino acids of the growth hormone molecule, the section linked to fat breakdown. It lacks the parts that bind the growth hormone receptor, so it does not raise IGF-1. Sold as research material, not as a medicine.

What is in the vial
Bio-Peptide and Genheal fill 5 mg vials, Nouveaux Ltd. fills 10 mg. A 5 mg vial with 2 ml of bacteriostatic water gives 2.5 mg per millilitre, the 10 mg vial with the same volume gives 5 mg per millilitre. Because this fragment is less stable in solution than most of the catalogue, the vial size decision is really a decision about how long the solution will stand: see the section below and the guide on reconstitution.
What the studies showed
In obese mice the fragment, in its modified version AOD9604, reduced body weight and body fat and increased fat burning. In humans it was AOD9604 that was tested: it missed the primary endpoint of a phase 2b trial, and its development was stopped in 2007.
Those two sentences sit next to each other for a reason. The animal result is the one used in advertising; the human result is the one that decided the regulatory fate of the molecule.
Stability, which matters here more than usual
The dissolved fragment degrades predictably through deamidation and oxidation, and users report a fall in potency after roughly two weeks refrigerated. That is shorter than most peptides in this catalogue, so storage discipline matters. The full profile is in the guide to HGH Fragment 176-191 and the storage rules in how to store peptides.
How it differs from the growth hormone peptides
Everything else in this group, from CJC-1295 to ipamorelin, works by making the pituitary release more growth hormone, which raises IGF-1. This fragment does not do that: it lacks the receptor-binding part of the molecule. So it belongs in the same catalogue group by origin, not by mechanism, and the comparisons drawn between them in marketing do not hold.
Status
Not an approved medicine. AOD9604 is on the World Anti-Doping Agency list in category S0, non-approved substances, and the agency has stated the prohibition dates from 2011. We publish no dosing schedules.
Handling and verification
Supplied as lyophilised powder. Check the code under the hologram and the batch certificate as described in check your product. We ship within Poland and abroad; outside Poland shipping costs 30 EUR paid in advance or 80 EUR cash on delivery, the same for every country. Details: shipping and payments.
Questions
Does it raise IGF-1?
No. It lacks the part of the growth hormone molecule that binds the receptor, which is the whole point of using a fragment rather than the hormone.
Was it tested in humans?
Its modified version AOD9604 was, and it missed the primary endpoint of a phase 2b trial. We found no published clinical trial of the fragment itself.
How long does the solution keep?
Shorter than most peptides here: users report a fall in potency after roughly two weeks refrigerated.
Is it allowed in sport?
No. AOD9604 sits in category S0 of the World Anti-Doping Agency list.
