TB-500 is a synthetic short fragment of thymosin beta-4, covering the actin-binding section of that protein. It is bought alongside BPC-157 for soft tissue, and it is sold as research material, not as a medicine.

What is in the vial
All three manufacturers supply 10 mg vials, so the choice here is between brands and prices rather than between quantities. A 10 mg vial with 2 ml of bacteriostatic water gives 5 mg per millilitre, with 5 ml it gives 2 mg per millilitre; the arithmetic is in the guide on reconstitution and the conversion into syringe units in syringe units.
What the research shows
The proposed mechanism rests on binding free, globular actin and blocking its assembly into filaments, which is meant to ease cell movement, tissue rebuilding and the formation of new blood vessels. Because thymosin beta-4 occurs throughout the body, TB-500 is studied for systemic effects rather than local repair alone.
That systemic character is the practical difference from BPC-157, which is usually described as a local signal. It is also why the two are marketed as complementary, a claim examined in BPC-157 and TB-500 together.
What it does not show
For the TB-500 fragment itself, no completed efficacy trials in humans had been published as of April 2026. Clinical data exist for full thymosin beta-4, but in ophthalmology, as eye drops tested in phase 3. That is a different molecule in a different setting. The comparison with BPC-157 is in TB-500 compared with BPC-157.
Anything written about recovery times, injury healing or return to training with TB-500 in people is extrapolation from animal work. We publish no dosing schedules for the same reason.
Status
TB-500 is not a registered medicine. The United States Food and Drug Administration placed it in category 2 of the 503A list, barred from pharmacy compounding. The World Anti-Doping Agency prohibits it at all times, listing it among non-approved substances and growth factors; what that means in practice is set out in the WADA guide.

Questions
Is TB-500 the same as thymosin beta-4?
No. It is a short fragment of it. Full thymosin beta-4 has 43 amino acids.
Are there human studies of TB-500?
Not for the fragment. Phase 3 trials were run on full thymosin beta-4 as eye drops.
Should it be bought with BPC-157?
That is the common pattern, and the two are also sold pre-mixed in one vial. No trial has tested the pair in people.
Can TB-500 be used in sport?
No. It is prohibited at all times under category S2.
