Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide that stimulates the ghrelin receptor, GHS-R1a, producing a pulsatile release of growth hormone. It is the most selective molecule in its group, and it is sold as research material, not as a medicine.

What is in the vial
All three manufacturers fill 10 mg vials, so here the choice is between brands rather than between vial sizes. What separates them is the certificate of analysis for the batch, not the molecule.
A 10 mg vial with 2 ml of bacteriostatic water gives 5 mg per millilitre; with 5 ml it gives 2 mg per millilitre. The calculation and its conversion into insulin syringe units are set out in the guides on reconstitution and syringe units.
Why it is called selective
In the 1998 study that first described it, ipamorelin released growth hormone with a potency comparable to GHRP-6 but did not raise ACTH or cortisol above the levels seen after GHRH alone. It also gives minimal appetite stimulation, unlike GHRP-6. The full profile is in ipamorelin: the clean GHRP.
Selectivity is the reason this is the default choice in its group. GHRP-2 raises cortisol and prolactin in a dose-dependent way, GHRP-6 produces intense hunger, and both effects are avoided here. The four compounds of this class are placed side by side in the map of the differences.
Limits and status
It has one completed human trial, in postoperative ileus after bowel resection, in 114 patients. It missed its primary endpoint and development in that indication stopped. There are no studies of its effect on body composition, muscle mass or bone density. The FDA placed it in category 2 of substances barred from compounded drugs, and it is prohibited in sport at all times under category S2.
Read that first sentence twice, because it is the honest summary of this molecule: the only completed trial in people tested something entirely unrelated to why it is bought, and it did not meet its endpoint.
What we do not publish

Questions
Why is ipamorelin combined with CJC-1295?
They act on two different pituitary receptors, and firing both produces a larger growth hormone pulse than either alone. That pairing is also sold pre-mixed in one vial.
Does ipamorelin cause hunger?
Minimally, and that is the difference from GHRP-6, where hunger begins 15 to 20 minutes after injection and is the strongest in the group.
Is there proof it builds muscle?
No. There are no studies of its effect on body composition, muscle mass or bone density.
Is it allowed in sport?
No. It is prohibited at all times under category S2 of the World Anti-Doping Agency list.
